CDConsults: Melissa D. Holod Biography
Melissa D. Holod, Ed.S. is a New Jersey Licensed Professional Counselor. Melissa's current practice includes
individuals, couples, family therapy and groups. She has previously worked as a therapist for a
local behavioral health center and also as a geriatric counselor for a senior center. She has lectured
for the Ocean County Family Court on Parenting after Divorce, and also for the New Jersey Association
of Senior Center Directors on Caregiver's Support Groups. Her work has focused on helping individuals,
couples and families within a systems perspective in creating healthier interaction skills and solutions
to the issues presented. Some of the issues couples and families present are infidelity, infertility
concerns, separation and divorce, parenting skills and communication skills. Other areas in which Melissa
has extensive knowledge: caregiving, grief and bereavement, anxiety, and depression.
